Mourvedre [mor-VED-re]
Origin
Also known as Monastrell, Mourvedre is a well-known grape in the Rhone and Provence regions of France but may be of Spanish origin. It is also commonly used in roses. We use our Mourvedre as blending grapes in our Admiral’s Blend.
Tasting Notes
We have found our Mourvedre to be softer than the European wines.
Pairings
Since we don’t currently make this as a varietal, we have no pairing suggestions. We do, however, suggest that you pair Admiral’s Blend with red flavorful meats such as beef stews and steaks.
