Viognier

Viognier (vee-own-YAY)

Origin

Viognier originated in the Cotes du Rhone region of France where it is often used as a blending wine as we also do at Corteau.

Tasting Notes

A dry wine tasting of peaches and honeysuckle with low to medium acidity. This grape tends to become higher in alcohol as a wine, so some single varietals may taste “hot.” It can be made in styles from light to bold. Our Boots’ Blanc has 5% Viognier.

Pairings

Seafood and aromatic dishes such as curries or Southeast Asian cuisines. It also does well with lighter white meat dishes or those enhanced with fruit compotes.
